We traveled during the dates of July 14 to July 18th to Northern Minnesota. We went through Duluth to Grand Marais and stayed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais. First day we had a worship service at Bethlehem and got a feel for our new home, Pastor Mark from G M was wonderful.
On Thursday we went to ride the Gondola and Alpine slide at Lutzen Mountain and a picnic by Lake Superior and a fun day shopping around town. Friday it was off to the Wilderness Canoe Base Camp for mission work and life in the beautiful outdoors. They were taken over on a raft and when they got to the camp they had to all take swimming tests and a canoe or two were swamped and everyone was blessed with the adventure, they worked on cleaning up down trees and hauled rocks and cleaned up the fire waste and there was so much work to do. Saturday was second day at the camp, more working and cleaning and they prepare to go home so the final activity was the Sauna and everyone loved it.
We had our academy awards back at Bethlehem that night with a wonderful Pasta dinner served by the adults to our youth. We closed our trip out on Sunday by singing “What’s in a Name” for the last time and the service was a full house and it was wonderful! Thank you Lord for our trip to Grand Marais and Wilderness Canoe Base. Our trip coordinator was Kim Lynch! Thanks Kim!
